I spent a day at Elle Spa with two friends to celebrate one of my friends birthday. Prior to prepaying for the reservation, we were told that the $500 each we were paying would allow for unlimited spa treatments. In addition, for the $500 price tag we were told we would have a private chef for dinner and could have anything we wanted. Unfortunately, the day end up a disappointment. While I can recommend the dream lotion massage as being very relaxing; that was about the extent of the amazing part of the day. About 7 to 10 days prior to our arrival, I sent an email detailing what spa treatments we would each like, our favorite scents and what we would each like for dinner. I was told I would be hearing from Elle once she reviewed the emails, but never did and actually followed up via email to double check the arrangements. Two days prior to our arrival, I received a phone call from Corey, who stated that we wouldn't be able to have two of the spa treatments we'd asked for.
When we arrived, we met Corey, who was very nice. Now, on the website, it states our day would start with a light breakfast, so we all arrived quite hungry. Unfortunately, we were presented with small slices of pumpkin bread and hot tea. After we explained, Corey did make us a quick breakfast.
After a tour and breakfast, Corey got a treatment room together and had the birthday girl go first for her body scrub while we (myself and my other friend) waited in the living room drinking tea. This surprised me since I assumed from the way Corey was describing things that we'd have more than one person providing treatments for us. Nope, just Corey which meant a lot of waiting, luckily we all brought books to read and just sat in the living room while we each had treatments. Now, on the website it states the scrub is supposed to last an hour but they actually lasted about 30 minutes each but are customized to each person's favorite scents, which was nice. After the scrubs we each changed into bath robes. Unfortunately, the birthday girl discovered her robe was too small which made her feel uncomfortable since she had to keep a towel across her legs in order to not flash everyone, so if you are larger, be aware.
After our body scrubs, we had a light lunch and each took turns having our dream lotion massages which included a facial. The dream lotion massages were great but the facial was tagged onto the end of it and honestly didn't seem worth the extra $50 listed on the website and Corey left for 15-20 minutes in the middle of it while we each had a mask on our face. I was in there for so long; I almost got up and rinsed my face off myself because I thought maybe he'd forgotten about me. So while I can recommend the massage, I can't recommend the facial, as I've had better, less expensive ones at other spa's and salons.
By the time Corey finished with our scrubs and massages, it was getting close to dinner time. Now, this was the part we were all looking forward to most. We each have vastly different tastes and thought it was such a cool idea having a personal chef. Unfortunately, this is the part of the day that disappointed the most and I cannot recommend it. The dinner was a four course meal, and was tailored only to the birthday girls list. My list and my friends' list were completely ignored even though I'd checked to make sure they'd been received prior to our visit. Now when I say we each have different tastes, I can't stress that enough. Myself and my friend who shelled $750 each to pay for the day were quite ticked off that we didn't get anything close to the meal we'd ordered and what we were served was just ok at best and not worth $125 extra at all. So, if you go don't get the private chef, it's not worth it. I did try emailing and speaking to the spa about our visit prior to posting a review. We asked for a partial refund on 2 of the dinners(we spent $1500 and asked for $100 back) , I was told I'd hear back in a few days. That was 2 weeks ago and when I did speak to Corey, I was basically told we were wrong for how we felt. So we won't be back.
